Movie Hellraiser Scripts

I have the original script for Hellraiser: Bloodline, which shows what it would have looked like before Dimension and Joe Chappelle messed it up, as well as the original, non-Hellraiser draft of Deader. I also have a remake treatment by Dunstan and Melton, but I don't know if it's safe to post or not.

The remake script should be safe.  It's from '08, and they've already made another sequel since.  As for scripts, here are a parts 1-3 and 6. I don't have Inferno or Revelations.

That Melton and Dusntan thing was pretty bad. The HELLRAISER mythos is far too rich to just splurge it on chasing down nubile college students.

I'd sell my firstborn to get the scripts/treatments done by Pascal Laugier (MARTYRS) and Bustillo and Maury (INSIDE).

Apparently both were so and disturbing Dimension freaked out and fired them. But that's exactly what you want!

God, Bob Weinstein sucks.

I'd also like to read the draft Barker wrote a couple of years back, before everyone went silent on it and that Judgment thing was announced.

The Melton/Dunstan Hellraiser just reads like they'd never watched Hellraiser and Dimension mistakenly gave them Wishmaster as research. Funnily enough, though, Peter Atkins did write 2-4 and Wishmaster.

It corresponds with a rumour I heard about about how Dimension wanted HELLRAISER to be about a bunch of high school/college kids who raise Pinhead by doing a seance.

This isn't far off from that.

Also the DRIVE ANGRY team of writer Todd Farmer and director Patrick Lussier nearly made it with William Fichtner as Pinhead. That would have been... interesting.

Yeah, Clive seemed really gung-ho about it. Talked about how he was getting creative control and all that.

My dream would be to call it THE HELLBOUND HEART and just follow the novella. But there's no way Dimension wouldn't have the word HELLRAISER in the title.

*Sigh*, what could have been. Now we're getting a movie guest starring Professor Pyg and Psychomantis...

I don't really have any hope since Gary Tunnicliffe wrote this as well as Revelations, and what's worse is that he's directing Judgment in addition to writing.

This sounds like just another quickie DTV sequel so they can keep the copyright on the property.

My current theory is that once Dimension realized they waited too long and lost the rights to Halloween, they went into full panic mode and commissioned Judgment as a stop gap.

It's their own fault. They had the series originator enthusiastically writing what sounded like a fairly epic script. They never seem to seize opportunity when it stares them in the face.

It's Dimension, where franchises go to die.

Legend has it that Bob Weinstein's favourite kind of movie scare is where a cat jumps out from nowhere.

Thing is they are trying to turn Hellraiser into wishmaster when it already has such a rich and interesting Lore...........why borrow from another?? this sounds like they are trying to to reinvigorate it by ripping off another franchise and destroying both at once

Both of the Weinstein's have a really terrible track record of changing things to the detriment of the film as a whole.Bob Weinstein hated Mimic (1997) and when Guillermo Del Toro stood his ground he hired Robert Rodriguez to direct second unit footage. Also, Harvey Weinstein famously wanted to cut down Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki and Snowpiercer by Bong Joon-Ho.In the case of Princess Mononoke because Studio Ghibli was aware of Harvey Weinstein's reputation one of the producers actually sent him a Katana with a message that said "No Cuts". With Snowpiercer Bong Joon-Ho refused to make the cuts Weinstein wanted and Weinstein only relented when Snowpiercer opened in Korea as well as France to critical acclaim and massive box office.Snowpiercer would get released but only in limited screenings.Secondhand reports told a story that studio heads feared that people wouldn't be able understand the movie. They put together their own cut of the movie that tested badly and made the case for releasing the director's original cut all the more relevant.

They don't call him "Harvey Scissorhands" for nothing.

That's a poor conclusion to make from what was a treatment commissioned by Dimension, which did not impress Dimension enough to proceed far past that point.
