Looking for the new Dan Gilroy/Jake Gyllenhaal film at Netflix.

"A multiple perspective narrative in the contemporary art world, that involves billionaire collectors, gallerists, auctions and sales."
Gyllenhaal play an art critic.

I know that it was previously untitled. Velvet Buzzsaw is the title I'm hearing that is being used.

Starts shooting March 19th in LA. Release date October 26th via Netflix.

ANYONE have the script?? More than happy to trade.

Interesting, probably got that title from his brother, Tony -- his amazing character intro for Marty Bach in his Michael Clayton screenplay refers to him as a "velvet switchblade."

I watched the fil mtoday and it was....weird.
Not Nightcrawler form imo.
The satire that felt very spot on in Nightcrawler felt very....."seen it before" kinda.

This movie is bonkers. The character names alone (Morf Vandewalt! Rhodora Haze!) are worth the price of admission. I've already watched it twice. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Everything from the artwork itself, the jazzy pacing, the kind of heat check performances where every actor seems to believe the movie is about them, it all coalesces into a ballsy, bright, hilarious, funhouse of horrors.

Also Jake Gyllenhaal is low-key piecing together one of the great character actor filmographies of this era: Zodiac, End of Watch, Prisoners, Enemy, Nightcrawler, Demolition, Nocturnal Animals, Okja, Stronger, and now, Velvet Buzzsaw. He's come a long way from that bad haircut and worse choice to be in Prince of Persia.
