I can now confirm a 125p - 04-05-16 draft by Dennis Kelly. This is the draft that attracted Fincher and has a revised draft due in 12 days. Once again - this is only news and not any indication of any level of availability whatsoever. I will be utterly shocked if it ever gets out there.

As much as I'd love to read the script it'd be great to go into a Fincher film without knowing all the story beats and ending

I hope the deal falls apart and Fincher doesn't do this sequel. IMO, it would be a waste of his considerable talents.
Really? Have you read the above draft to form this opinion? Because I can pretty much guarantee what you think the sequel might be ---- this isn't even close. It is very obvious why he is attracted to the material. It is absolutely right in his wheelhouse.

No, I haven't read the draft, and I don't want to either. I did see the first film, though, and it was awful. And having seen that, I can't think of any way they can make it better, short of throwing out the first film and starting over again--and this time actually following the book. And even if they did that, I still don't think they could do the book justice in a two hour film. IMO, it really should've been a miniseries on HBO. That way the documentary aspects from the book could be maintained and many of the great stories could be told.

With all the other film projects out there that he could do, why do a sequel to WWZ? I can't even understand his thinking, unless he's hoping for a big box office hit. Not to mention that the last sequel he did was a nightmare production. Whatever, though. If Fincher wants to do it, it's his right. But I don't have to like it or watch it.

If Fincher directs it, he can make a masterpiece and a new standard in the genre, no matter if it's closer to the source material or not. It doesn't look like a waste of his talents.
